The passing of a loved one is one of those topics about which many of us would prefer not to think about or discuss. However, it is something that all of us will experience at some point in our lives. Discussing this topic with a child can be even more difficult, uncomfortable, emotional. and complicated. The purpose of this book, Viviane, Oh How I Miss My Friend, is to make that conversation, when or even before the time arises, lighter, relatable and a bit less intimidating from both children and adults using a bird allegory. Hopefully this book will provide a simple way to explain just a small part of what death is; how we can recover from loss; and make this difficult subject one that young children can comprehend and learn from.
