December 9 – Book Fair with Authors of Color at the Hilltop Mall in Richmond, CA
We had a wonderful launch of Akira’s Book Club, our newly formed non-profit which was held on Sunday at the beautiful Red Bay Coffee location in East Oakland. We had over 100 supporters who were entertained by the Prescott Circus Theater and the brilliant Young Gifted and Black spoken word artist. We gave Akira fidget spinners as incentives to purchase more than one book and our Akira book bags for those who purchased the entire series of 12 books. Children has fun with balloons, bubbles, snacks and face painting. Adults supported Red Bay Coffee by enjoying the coffee, tea and other goodies they sell daily. Books were sold and contacts made. Fun was had by all who attended including the bus load of children and parents who came from the Emanyatta program in Seaside, CA. Thanks to all who came out to support us!
